Floyd Walton Bodily was born January 9, 1934 to Walton Edwin and Zelpha Mae Bodily, at their home in Maeser, Utah. He passed away to his Heavenly home on December 22, 2019 suddenly at the hospital.
Floyd married his sweet wife June 14, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Thelma Fern Hallett; parents Walton Edwin Bodily and Zelpha Mae Allen; three brothers Lorenzo Edwin Bodily, Melvin Robert Bodily, and Gordon Davis Bodily; and one sister Anna Morrison, Grandson-in-law Devin Erik Singleton, Great-grandson Elliot Wilson Oldroyd.
Floyd is survived by his siblings Lucile Anderson, Harold R. Bodily, Thoral Allen Bodily, Luella Evans, Delila Goodrich, and Deloris Hansen; six children LorRin (John B) Hunting, Beth Bodily, DeAnn (Paul) Miles, Sharleen (Garth) Openshaw, Dale W. (Shauna) Bodily, Karen Gonzalaz; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Floyd was a member of the Maeser Water and Sewer Board.
He was Bishop of the Maeser First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed being a Temple worker in the Vernal Temple. He fulfilled many other Church callings throughout his lifetime. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for dad in any way.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maeser Stake Center. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6-8p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
