William (Bill) Fielding McKnight

December 23, 1939 ~ November 20, 2018

Bill McKnight died peacefully in his sleep on November 20, 2018, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Bill McKnight was born on December 23, 1939, in Rangely, Colorado to Beatrice Ann Workman and Joseph Arthur McKnight. He was the youngest of three children.

He was preceded in death, by his brother, James McKnight and his sister Colleen McKnight King. He lost his loving wife, Betty Sue McKnight, in 2012.

Bill is survived by his four children: Todd (Julie) McKnight, Atascadero, CA; Chad McKnight, San Diego, CA; Jeff McKnight, Grand Junction, CO; and Joy (Austin) Chen, Los Angeles, CA; Grandchildren: Hannah, Chad, Kennedy, Stella, Fielding, Lindsay, and Simon; Nephews: Greg (Karen) King, Dallas, TX, Chris (Karyn) King, Aliso Viejo, CA, Kevin (Diane) King, Meridian, TX, Darren (Lauri) King, Denver, CO, and their children.

Bill loved being with his family and friends. Some of his happiest moments were in the Utah Mountains camping with the entire family where he led in laughter, love, wisdom, and support. Daily, he enjoyed the challenge of trading in the stock market and writing his book about the Wild West.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 12 p.m. at the Saint James Catholic Church, in Vernal, UT. A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church.
