Arthur Hutcheon Obituary

Arthur Max Hutcheon, age 87, was reunited with the love of his life Thursday, January 2, 2019, peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in his home. He was born January 23, 1931 to Arthur James Hutcheon and Ada Elthea Peterson in Neola, Utah.

He met the love of his life, Joyce Pressnell, at a cafe in Carlin, Nevada. They were married September 10, 1955, where his new father-in-law said he was so thankful to finally have a son. They later moved to Orem, Utah where they had two wonderful sons, Craig and Alan. They had a cherry orchard and raised Arabian horses that Max showed frequently. They moved to Vernal, Utah and lived here for 35+ years where they celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage without a fight.

Max served in the Army for 2 years, 11 months, and 11 days. He was an amphibious tank commander in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on December 23, 1953. Serving his country was an honor he took great pride in. While living in Vernal he drove the radiation vacation van and the Disabled American Veteran van where he logged over 1600 hours of volunteer service. He served in the Amercan Legion, the VFW, and was part of the Honor Guard. Being able to participate in the funeral for Veterans always was an honor that he loved to do. He also loved putting flags out on Veterans Day at Rockpoint Cemetery to give them honor they had earned.

He was always at his grandchildrens sporting events rain or shine. He enjoyed going on mile long walks gathering asparagus or looking for cool rocks to add to Joyces collection. Family camping trips were always a must, he loved going fishing with his family and joining his sons on hunting shed or animal adventures. His grandson Dalton was always by his side making sure he had a smile on his face.

He is survived by two sons Craig Hutcheon and Alan Hutcheon; grandchildren: Cody Hamm, Heather Kirchner, Cheyenne Hutcheon, Dalton Hutcheon, Emree Hutcheon, Addison Hutcheon, Kynzie Hutcheon; and his four great grandchildren: Sylas Keel, Dylan Thayne, Xaiden Sadlier and the newest on the way.
