Dorothy Ann Anderson, loving wife and mother, died February 20th, 2021 at the age of 86. Dorothy was born July 16th, 1934 in Vernal, UT to Leonard and Katie (Haslem) Horrocks.
Dorothy married Glade Anderson on January 3rd, 1951 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Dorothy and Glade were the epitome of a true love story. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this January. A truly amazing accomplishment that was a joyous occasion for her and all her family.
Dorothy always lived her life by the principles of hard work, integrity, honor, and commitment. If she committed to something, she always accomplished it. Everyone who worked or served with her loved her and loved working alongside her.
Dorothy was tenaciously dedicated to her husband, family, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. After her husband Glade retired, they enjoyed serving several LDS missions together. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gave them many opportunities to serve together. Everything Dorothy and Glade did, they did together.
Dorothy had a passion for reading and loved to lose herself in a book. She also loved to travel with her husband Glade. They went to many destinations from Canada to Mexico, California to Maine and all the points in between.
Dorothy had a way of making everyone she came in contact with feel loved and important. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Glade Anderson, children Randy Anderson, Russell Anderson (Patti), Cathy Bilbey-Kempton (Brett Kempton) (Curt Bilbey deceased). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11:00a.m. at the Ashley 3rd Ward LDS Chapel (235 East 600 South). A viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
