Karlene Capps Obituary
Karlene Measom Capps, age 75 of Vernal, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct 1, 2019. Karlene was born August 7, 1944, in Provo, Utah to Karl Harrison Measom and LaVerne Kelsey Measom.
Karlene married Roger Groo, and together they had four children, JanaLee, Lonnie, Wayne, and Linda. They later divorced. On September 17, 1983, Karlene married, James Larry Capps. They were blessed with 30 years together before his passing on January 15, 2014.
Karlene is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them. She loved to crochet, sew, and play the piano. She loved her yard work, planting flowers, and working in the garden. She loved to can the things she grew. Along with her many other loves for life, she also enjoyed camping with her family.
Karlene is survived by her children: JanaLee (Todd) Corbett, Wayne (Michele) Groo, Linda (Greg) Scott; mother LaVerne Measom; siblings: LilaRee Branam, Ron (Ann) Measom, Barry (Satsuko) Measom, Darrin (Janet) Measom; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father Karl Harrison Measom, husband James Larry Capps, and her son Lonnie Groo.
Funeral services for Karlene Capps, will be held Monday 1PM at the Maeser 1st Ward Chapel (850 West 100 North). A viewing will be held Monday from 11:45-12:45PM at the Church.
