Myrna Spaulding Obituary

Myrna Belle Fenn Spaulding (known to us as Mom, Grammy, and GG) passed away on April 29, 2019 at the age of 78 in her home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Myrna was born in Montwell, Utah on December 28, 1940 to George Fenn and Susan Belle Labrum Fenn. She lived on the family farm there until they moved to Roosevelt, UT when she was about five years old.

Myrna married Charles Richard Spaulding on November 28, 1958 in Roosevelt, Utah. They have three children, Wendy, Scott, and Kirk. Early in their marriage, she and Chuck raced stock cars. They loved rock hounding, 4-wheeling, and camping together and shared these interests with their family and friends. Myrna loved spending time with family and spoiling her grandkids. She spent countless hours playing games with, cooking for, cleaning up after, transporting, and supporting her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She loved socializing with her friends, old and new. She worked in retail and touched the lives of hundreds of children as a teachers aide and school lunch clerk. She was a fantastic seamstress and made countless outfits for Wendy and her girls. Later in life she became an avid reader and had enough books to start her own library. She loved the beauties of the earth and sky and took advantage of every opportunity to explore them including hiking, gardening, and learning about archaeology.

Myrna will be remembered for her generous expressions of love and service. She never met a stranger and all felt welcomed and cared for by her. She taught us all by her example how to love and minister to Gods children right up until the last day of her life. She made us all better people. We will miss her.

Myrna is survived by daughter Wendy Jean Calder, son Scott (Lynn) Spaulding, grandchildren: Kadie (Pete) Richards, Amanda (Mark) Salisbury, Maddie Calder, Sarah Spaulding, JuraQwyn (Kristina) Spaulding, Charlie Shazet Spaulding (Brandon Moore), Kable Spaulding, Makiea Spaulding; step grandchildren: Keisha Bethers, Kai Rasmussen, Pua Rasmussen, Siera Smith, and 20 great grandchildren.

She is preceeded in death by her husband Charles R. Spaulding, son Kirk Russell Spaulding and grandson Cameron Cainon Zail Spaulding.
