Sylvia Carrell Obituary

Sylvia Kay McBride Carrell Blue

Our beautiful beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend returned to her Creator on August 27, 2019, at the age of 65.

Sylvia was born January 23, 1954, in California. She graduated from Apple Valley High School, Class of 1972. She attended Dixie State University studying pre-veterinarian. She also attended Utah State University studying music and Weber State University studying Literature where she obtained her Bachelors degree.

Sylvia was well known, liked, and loved by many. She was a one of a kind that one would not forget. She wore many hats and impacted many lives throughout her years as an Educator. She has spent the better part of 40 years as a teacher and educator throughout the Uintah Basin.

Sylvia was a proud Native American and loved her heritage and culture. She always had a special soft spot for the tribal members of the Uintah Basin. There has been several accounts of the lives of the tribal members she has touched and helped throughout her years. She has also worked for several years with the troubled youth and adults and had a profound impact on many lives.

She had a great love for animals and spent a lot of her time at the Basin Livestock sales barn being around the animals she loved as well as all the animals she had rescued and took care of at home on her own ranch in Lapoint. However, her greatest love was her family. She loved her children and especially her grandchildren with a love that was endless and unmatched.

She will always be remembered as the person that would ask someone twice a day if they were ok, even when they say they are. She smiled at people that would not smile in return, and would be the kind of person you wished for when no one was there for you. She was also the kind of person that was brave enough to stand alone in a crowd and stand for what is right! Her beauiful smile will be missed dearly.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, Kaarmen Elmo McBride, Mildred Earleen McBride, and her grandson, Bronx Brandon Young.

Sylvia is survived by her chidren Jared and Summer Ekker, Crystal Carrell and Jeff Nielson, Angela and Mike Shenk, Lavina and Brandon Young. 16 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchld, her sibiling Teresa McBride and Tim McBride.
