Ada Gay (Cornia) Russey

Ada Gay Russey, age 73, of Vernal, Utah has ascended off this mortal coil and started her new adventures in the afterlife. Ada was born March 12 1951 to Nyles and Peggy Cornia. At the age of twenty Ada met her soulmate Wayne Russey. They were married on June 3 1971 and commenced to building a family together. Ada passed away on July 2 after fighting a battle with endometrial cancer. Ada was preceded in death by her parents Nyles and Peggy Cornia, sister Christine Lane, best friend Adele Welsh, grandson Phoenix Russey and husband Wayne Russey who also lost his own battle to cancer in 2012. Ada is survived by her 7 children and their spouses. Chad and Amber Russey, Heather and Tod Ponciano, Jeremy and Shannon Russey, Shirley and Sam Beasley, Nyles and Kim Russey, Peggy Russey and Kenneth and Jennifer Russey. Her 14 grandchildren Tyler, Tara and husband Skylar, Preston and wife Mckendrie, Izabelle,Samantha, Kaylee, Jayden, Andrew, Leonard, Robert, Caden, Aleric, Adalyn and wife Cheyenne and Pheonyx. Her 9 great grandchildren Stevie, Noah, Everett, McKoy, Joel, Atlas, Cambria, Kenzliegh and Jayven. Ada was devoted to her family and beloved by all. Ada was well known for the size of her heart and ability to love unconditionally. Her sense of humor and joke telling always lightened the room with laughter. She loved singing songs to her family and playing games of which she was the undisputed champion of Yahtzee. Her passing will leave a forever void that her family cannot fill. A celebration of life for Ada will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 5:00pm at the Vernal City Hall (374 East Main Street) Conference Room. Interment with her beloved husband Wayne Morehead Russey, and Military Honors for Wayne will be held Saturday July 20, at 12:00pm at the Jensen Cemetery (5200 S 9000 East, Jensen, Utah). Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
