Adam King Austin

February 9, 1992 — May 20, 2018

Adam King Austin, son of David and Pamela Austin, age 26, peacefully returned to his heavenly home on May 20th, 2018, at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City due to complications brought on by cancer. Adam is survived by his parents and siblings Brian (Denise), Jared (Janelle), Shelly Ruppe, Seth (Carrie), Samuel, and Katie (T.J. Batty). Adam is preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother-in-law, Norman Ruppe. Adam Austin was a kind and thoughtful man. His life was devoted to the care and accommodation of his family, friends, and acquaintances. When with Adam, one felt as though he or she was the center of the universe. Adam was a skilled cellist who played with the Uintah School of Music and the Arts and even performed in Carnegie Hall in New York City. Adam also enjoyed studying martial arts at Vernals Unbroken Circle Dojo. His sanguine and caring nature helped many with whom he interacted gain confidence and self-mastery. Along with enjoying the arts, Adam was known for his extensive knowledge of the local wildlife and the diverse ecosystems of Utah. He enjoyed target shooting with his family and friends. Adam was able to express his near limitless creativity through writing, drawing, and sculpting. Adam received a degree in cosmetology from Paul Mitchell Academy in Logan, Utah. Adam thrived on the meaningful conversations he would have with his clients while cutting and styling their hair. His empathetic and understanding personality had the ability to put those around him at ease. The breadth of Adams positive influence was made manifest by the fact that his hospital suite was standing room only. Whatever Adam did, he did masterfully. The range of this abilities and talents was impressive. In Adams humble way, he would credit his success to others and to his Father in Heaven. One of the highlights of his life was being able to receive his endowments in the Vernal Temple. His kindness, love, and talents will be greatly missed. His impact on all of us will echo forever in our hearts and souls.
