Alice Kay Bergfeld Booth - a remarkable daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Alice was born on December 15, 1970, in Charleston, Illinois, to Evelyn Kay Deans Bergfeld and Vincent Michael Bergfeld. When she was just six months old, her family moved to Vernal, Utah, where she would spend all of her childhood and form the roots of a life filled with faith, service, and love. From an early age she loved to ride motorcycles, down hill snow ski, and she enjoyed spending time with her family camping and other outdoor activities. She was a natural with children-the kind of babysitter everyone wanted, not just because she was responsible, but because she genuinely loved and uplifted the little ones in her care. She went above and beyond her duties by cleaning the houses she babysat for. She was everyone's favorite babysitter. Alice was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, She loved the Young Women's activities, and the friendships and faith that came from those experiences stayed with her throughout her life. In her youth she enjoyed baton and flag twirling, even performing as part of her high school team. After high school, she continued her education at Dixie State, completing her prerequisites before moving to Provo, Utah. It was there she met Andrew Kent Harward, they later moved to Vernal where, she welcomed her three beautiful daughters: Ashley Katie, Rakelle Ann, and Haylee Kay. She loved them with all her heart and gave everything she had to nurture, teach, and support them. She completed her LPN nursing degree-a tremendous accomplishment during a very busy and demanding season of her life. Balancing school, work, and motherhood was no easy feat, but Alice met it with courage and determination. Her work in healthcare would go on to span over 34 years, and her impact on her patients-especially the elderly-was profound. She didn't just provide care; she offered dignity, kindness, and genuine human connection. Alice later divorced and in 2007, Alice found love again and married Kevin James Booth. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter Kenady Erin who they loved and cherished. Alice became a loving stepmother to Brooke Moore, Corey Booth, Drew Booth, and Hunter Booth. Life took Kevin, Alice, Haylee, and Kenady to many places - Wisconsin, Wyoming, Tennessee, California, and eventually back to Vernal - each location a new chapter filled with adventures, laughter, and memories. Kevin passed away in October 2017, and while his loss was deeply felt, Alice carried on with the strength she had always shown. She continued to care for others-professionally and personally-and found joy in home decorating, family gatherings, and making every space feel warm and welcoming. She had a gift for creating beauty and peace wherever she went. Last July, Alice faced a heartbreak no mother should ever have to endure - the passing of her beloved daughter Haylee Kay. Losing Haylee left a hole in her heart that never fully healed. Though she continued to love, to serve, and to carry on with quiet courage, there was always a part of her that longed for that reunion. When you asked Alice what her greatest achievement was, she would answer without hesitation: her four daughters. She was endlessly proud of Ashley, Kells, Haylee, and Kenady-of the strong, beautiful women they have become. And in her later years, her heart expanded again with the arrival of her beloved grandchildren: Roman, Brooklyn, Addalyn, and Michael. They were her sunshine-her joy in every season. Her mother Kay was her best friend, and there hardly went a day without the two of them talking. Her mom was her strength, even though their personalities were like night and day they complimented each other perfectly. Alices faith was quiet, steady, and real. She knew that families are forever and lived her life in a way that reflected that promise. Alice's life was a testimony of that love. She gave it freely. She lived it fully. And now, though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her return to the arms of her loved ones her father Mike, her husband Kevin, and her daughter Haylee beyond the veil, to the presence of her Father in Heaven. Alice, we love you. We honor your legacy. We carry you in our hearts. And we will see you again.
