Alma Holmes

August 6, 1931 — March 21, 2015

Alma (Bunny) Lauretta Reynolds Holmes passed away on March 21, 2015 at her home in Vernal, Utah surrounded by her family. Bunny was born on August 6, 1931 to Hilda Merkley and Floy Otis Reynolds in Vernal, Utah. Bunny married Lyle (Whitey) Holmes on April 17, 1947 in Vernal, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.

Bunny was a member of the Davis 1st Ward. She was an active member until health issues prevented her attendance. Bunny was very talented and shared her talents with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends and extended family members. She crocheted afghans, doll clothes, stuffed animals, and doilies for family and friends.

She spent many hours working in her yard and flower beds. Others admired her green thumb and the ability to make things grow where others couldn't. She shared her flowers with all those who admired them. She enjoyed cooking for her family and could make anything taste good. She made the best bread and cinnamon rolls and Halloween wasn't Halloween if she didn't make popcorn balls.

She enjoyed her family and loved spending time with them. The hours spent cuddling grand and great-grand babies were some of the happiest times for her.

Bunny was a beautiful lady, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a beautiful soul and will be missed. God must have needed someone very special.

Bunny is survived by her husband Lyle "Whitey" Holmes; son Lorin Reed (Susan) Holmes; daughter Elaine (Clem) Garcia; sisters: Doreen (Oran) Hunting and Margaret (Tom) Wiggins; brothers: Hiram E. (Hazel) Reynolds, Floyd "Bud" (Jackie) Reynolds; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Bunny is preceded in death by her parents Floy and Hilda Reynolds and her brother Charles E. Reynolds.
