Arnold Everett Scott passed away on September 16, 2024 at the age of 79. Arnold was born on December 10, 1944 in Prescott Arizona to Gladys and Leonard Scott. Shortly after he was born, the family moved to Willcox, Arizona, and then eventually Flagstaff, Arizona where he graduated from Flagstaff High School with the class of 1963. Arnold had a diverse and colorful life. As a young man, he worked for his friend's dad herding sheep across the Arizona desert. He served his country in the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1967. He delivered beer for Budweiser to northern Arizona and worked road construction jobs, including the building of I-17. While working road construction, he became a member the Teamsters Union. During this time, he found that he was very good at persuasion and negotiation, and became a Business Agent for the Arizona Teamsters Local 83, and was eventually elected to the position of Vice President. As a union officer, Arnold fought tirelessly to get workers a better deal at their jobs. After the Teamsters, he became a successful small businessman, opening NAPA Auto Parts stores in Winslow, Arizona, and Holbrook Arizona. Subsequent ventures included a pest control business, and working as a bail bondsman in northern Arizona. As a businessman, Arnold once again became a leader in his community, serving as a member of the Winslow City Counsel and president of the Winslow Chamber of Commerce from 1990-1991. During his time in Winslow, Arnold proudly sat in for Santa Clause during local events where he dutifully took note of the children's Christmas wishes for many years. While he was in Flagstaff, he met the love of his life, and married Ann Naval on Novemeber 27th 1975. They would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this November. Arnold was a proud dad of his only daughter, Keri Scott (Partlow), who went on to give him twin grandsons. He was very proud of his family, and loved and mentored his grandsons fiercely, following them first to Montrose, Colorado and then eventually Vernal, Utah. Arnold loved his family very much, and had a special place in his heart for his niece and nephew Peggy and Todd. Arnold is survived by his wife Ann Scott, daughter Keri Partlow, his son-in law, 2 grandsons, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward and Rena Maheren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Preston Scott, Leroy Scott, and Leonard Scott. Memorial Services for Arnold will be held in Arizona later this year. Arrangements under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
