Barbara Earline Swain Cook was born on February 16, 1935 in Vernal, Utah. She passed away at the age of 80 on June 1, 2015. She was the oldest daughter born to Brigham Earl Swain and Maxine Iola Mathis. She spent most of her childhood in Murray, Utah. She married Cal S. Cook on January 26, 1952. Barbara has four children.
Bobbie and Cal moved to Bonanza, Utah after several years of marriage. She enjoyed riding the Tote Goats with Cal and friends. She really liked to look for arrowheads. Bobbie also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and working in her yard and garden. Her garden was the envy of the neighbors.
Bobbie enjoyed being with her family. She loved going camping and fishing with her family and friends. Every October you could find her and Cal on the mountain. They loved this time of the year and the hunting season. Everyone had a great time hunting.
Bobbie is survived by her children: Kem Cook, Calynn (John) Eskelson, Tammy (Kenneth) Long, all of Vernal, and Darshan (Mike) Still of Searcy, Arkansas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Jackie Preece and Linda Gibson, both of Vernal.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cal S. Cook; her parents: Brig and Maxine Swain; sister, Sharon Greenhow, three brother-in-laws: Chuck Preece, Dick Greenhow and James Gibson.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:30AM at the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
