"Buddy" Bernard Banks Myers, 90, of Tuscola, MS, passed away from natural causes on January 2, 2024, in Vernal, UT. He was born on June 3, 1933, in Tuscola, MS. Buddy was known for his love of telling jokes and getting a laugh, always capturing the attention of those around him. He was the definition of a true southern gentleman. He enjoyed entertaining guests and cherished his trips to the beach. After graduating as Valedictorian from Lena High School, Buddy served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956 where he was stationed in several places, including Hawaii and Okinawa, as a teletype operator. Shortly after he was discharged from the Navy, he met the love of his life, Carolyn, and they were wed on his 24th birthday. They moved many times back and forth between Texas and Mississippi during which time they had four beautiful children. He enjoyed a successful career, working for Brown Stoves in his early years and owning several businesses including Pearl River Pipe in Carthage, MS and Edgewater Apartments on Dauphin Island, Alabama. Buddy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Raytown, MS. He found joy in his hobbies, which included parasailing when he was younger, water skiing, dancing, fishing, hunting, and golfing. Buddy is survived by his children, Glenn Kristopher Myers (Kelly) of Danville, Kentucky, Steven Bennett Myers of Tuscola, Mississippi, Laura Susan Linschoten (Scott) of Vernal, Utah, and Lisa Evangeline Hare of Studio City, California. He was grandfather to Mitch, Mia, and Max Myers, as well as Cole, Gavin, and Rhys Linschoten. Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Kinports Myers, his mother, Mary Evangeline Young, his wife Carolyn, his sister Katherine 'Katie' Lindsay (Billy), and his sister Francis 'Sis' Madden (Marion). A ceremony celebrating Buddy's life will be held at a future date in Tuscola, MS where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Carolyn. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Ashley Valley Funeral Home to assist others who are unable to cover funeral expenses for their families.
