Betty Jo Hall, age 99, of Vernal, Utah, passed away on December 22, 2025. Betty Jo was born
in Vernal on December 9, 1926, to Marquis Ivan and Ella (McKee) Batty. She was the oldest of
five children and the only daughter. She spent her early years in Vernal and on Diamond
Mountain, where her parents homesteaded. When Betty Jo was 11, the family moved to a
beautiful ranch in Wallsburg, Utah, where they lived for 6 years. The family returned to Vernal in
1944, where Betty Jo graduated from Uintah High School in 1945.
After a short marriage to Bruce Watkins, Betty Jo caught the eye of Floyd Hall, and they married
in 1952. They had 2 children and 46 years together! The couple made their home in Midvale,
Utah, for several years and moved back to Vernal in 1961, where they resided for the rest of
their lives among family and friends who meant everything to them. Betty Jo loved her years of
work in jewelry sales -- her longest employ was at Adams Jewelry in Vernal from 1971 until
1993. Floyd and Betty Jo loved traveling, often with family and friends. Betty Jo managed to
visit all 50 states, 9 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and made many trips
to Mexico.
Betty Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Hall; her parents, Ivan and Ella Batty;
her 4 brothers, Miles, Ronald, Donald, and Clair Batty; and her nephew, Gale Batty.
She is survived by daughter, JoEllen Litton (married to Ron); son, Wade Hall; four
grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
The family wish to make special mention of Betty Jo's cherished nieces and nephews and their
families; a step-daughter, Deanna Slaugh (who passed in 2021), and her family; and a surviving
step-son, Howard Hall, and his family. We love you all dearly!
