Carol passed away in September 1997 and Brent married a second special companion, Marty Kathleen Clelland on September 24, 1998 and added five more to his family, Duane (Beth), Michael (Carmen), Heather (Alan), Joshua (Bethaney), Christopher (Ashley). They made their home at Flaming Gorge for nineteen years.
Brent and Marty served two missions together for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. First in Micronesia Guam and then at the Palmyra New York temple where he was able to serve as a sealer. In 2017 they moved to Snowflake, Arizona where they lived until Brent's passing.
