Brian L Gordon

It is with great sadness that the family of Brian L. Gordon, announces his passing. He passed away at the University of Utah Hospital on November 10, 2021, at the age of 47. Born in Provo, Utah, on October 25, 1974, Brian grew up in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School in 1993. After high school he attended Salt Lake Community College for one year studying Diesel Mechanics. As a child, Brian loved to take things apart and to fix things. This love helped him in his career as he worked for many years managing a tire store in Orem. He was always willing to share his talent by helping someone fix their car. There are numerous people who were recipients of his time and generosity. In 2012, Brian made a career change for the job he loved most. He was proud to be able to work as a Plant Systems Operator at the Bonanza Power Plant for Deseret Power. He was also proud to carry on the legacy of working at the same place where his father worked for many years. After waiting for quite a while, Brian was able to find the love of his life Kelli Gibbs. They were married May 11, 2007. Kelli and Brian shared many of the same interests, especially being in the outdoors and riding ATV's. In 2013 their joy was complete with the birth of their son Blake Cooper (Coop). The light in Brian's eyes reflected the pride he felt with having his own son. Brian had a tender heart for children and was adored by his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Kelli; his son; Blake Cooper (Coop), Mother; Nora Brown, Siblings; Stanley (Kenzie, Wellington, FL), Kristie Curtis (Cory, Littleton, CO), and Alan (Melanie, Rexburg, ID); stepmother, Ellen Gordon; stepbrothers; Jason Hamilton (Adriana, Corona, CA) and Joey Hamilton (Bellingham, WA). He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley J. Gordon. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 20, 2021 at 12:00pm at the Maeser Stake Center (2745 West 1000 North). Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West), and Saturday from 10:45am ~ 11:45am at the church.
