Caleen Baker Hulet passed away on Friday January 4, 2013 at the University of Utah Hospital.
Caleen was born on October 25, 1948 in Kanab Utah to Calvin Edgar Baker and Luella Chatterley Baker. She grew up in Kanab and enjoyed a childhood with many cousins and friends. She graduated from Kanab High School in 1966 and attended Beauty College in Salt Lake City.
She and Steve Hulet fell in love and were married in Kanab on February 16, 1967. They were sealed to each other in the Salt Lake Temple on August 26, 1989, a sealing that was attended by many family and friends.
Caleen and Steve spent 46 wonderful years together. They lived in Kanab; Page, Arizona; Tucson, Arizona; Clark Air Base, Philippines; Tuba City, Arizona; St. Johns, Arizona; Goldsboro North Carolina; Dutch John, Utah; and Vernal, Utah.
They raised their family of 3 sons and 1 daughter in Vernal. Vernal has been their home for the past 27 years, where Caleen worked for the UBATC and the Uintah School District. She spent several years as the attendance secretary at Uintah High School, a job that she truly loved.
Caleen was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, mother in law, sister in law, 2 brothers in law and a niece. She loved them all dearly and is now enjoying a joyous reunion with them and many others.
She leaves behind a legacy of love with her husband, Steve; their four children; Corry (Traci) Hulet, Ryan (Cindy) Hulet, Heather (Walter) Arce, and Tyler (Katie) Hulet; 13 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, and 1 great granddaughter; 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Her family was her life.
Caleen served in the Young Women's programs in her ward and stake as well as the Primary and Relief Society. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and had a burning desire to have her family be together forever.
She shared a bond of closeness with her sisters Dixie, Joann, and Dottie that spilled over to all of her children and grandchildren that always had them excited to go to Aunt Dixie's house.
The family wishes to thank the EMS folks at Gold Cross, Dr. Brooksby and the ER staff at the Ashley Regional Medical Center, and the MCICU staff at the University Of Utah Hospital. Their professionalism as well as their compassionate care of Caleen will never be forgotten.
Viewing was held at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home in Vernal, Utah on Tuesday January 8, from 6 to 8 PM and at the Uintah Stake Center On Wednesday January 9 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM, with the services starting at 11 AM. Burial was at the Vernal Memorial Park.
