Chad Huffaker

Chad Winn Huffaker, age 64, passed away on January 8, 2026.

Chad was born on June 22, 1961, in Vernal, Utah, to Doris and Don Huffaker. He lived his life with a joyful spirit-always happy, never met a stranger, and never spoke a bad word about anyone. His kindness and easygoing nature made people feel instantly comfortable, and he left a positive impression everywhere he went.

A carpenter by trade, Chad took pride in working with his hands and building things meant to last. In his later years, he worked alongside his son, AJ Burk, at B&B Roustabout, a role he deeply enjoyed and took pride in.

Chad loved the outdoors and felt most at home fishing, camping, running the river, and spending time in nature. He was a devoted Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed photography, especially capturing moments shared with family and friends. He also loved playing ping pong with his buddies and shooting pool whenever he had the chance. Anything that involved being outside-or simply spending time with the people he cared about-brought him happiness.

In 1985, Chad married Ginger Burk, and together they had three children: AJ Burk, Chad Huffaker, and Jolee Hilkey. Though the marriage later ended in divorce, Chad remained devoted to his children. Later in life Chad married Kristy Moore. They later separated.

Above all else, Chad valued his family. He showed his care through presence, loyalty, and quiet support. He will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was-a genuinely good man who made others feel welcome, respected, and cared for.

Chad is survived by his father Don(Marcele) Huffaker; his children, AJ(Liz) Burk, Chad(Felecia) Huffaker, and Jolee Hilkey; his grandchildren Jayden Burk, Addilynn Hilkey, Rory Hilkey, Beckett Hilkey, Ryder Adams, Ashlynne Huffaker, Colby Huffaker, Taygen Huffaker, Rylee Foreman, Bailey Foreman, Isaiah Begay, and Dominic Begay; his siblings: Ann (Eric)Hunting, Heather(Pat) Thomas, and JoLynn(Tom) Cook-Cover; and sister in law Cindy Huffaker. He is preceded in death by his mother Doris Huffaker, his brother Steve Huffaker, and sister Susan Rezinina. 

A visitation for Chad Winn Huffaker, age 64, of Vernal, will be held Friday January 16, 2026 from 6-8PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow immediately after at 1235 W 3000 S. Vernal, UT 84078
