Christopher Michael Melton passed away on August 17, 2024 at the age of 50 in Provo, Utah with his loving family by his side. Christopher was born on April 14, 1974 in Vernal, Utah to Susan Lynn Melton and Michael Larry Melton. Chris graduated from Uintah High School in 1993, and he went on to welcome 2 sons, Dakota and Jaydon, with his first wife Cindy, he later married his second wife Jenny and had his daughters, Hailey and Desiree. He worked many jobs throughout his life, and worked hard in the oil field and most notably he worked for his Uncle Bill at Zimmerman Equipment for many years. Chris loved his 4 children more than anything in the world and he was very proud of the adults they have become. He was the kindest, most genuine man you would ever meet. His kids would tell you there was nothing he couldn't do. Chris loved to go fishing, especially down on the Green River. He loved camping, hiking, rock hunting, etc. He loved having his family over for a BBQ and campfire, and oftentimes he would get so distracted with odd-jobs around the house the food wouldn't even be done until midnight-but it was well worth the wait. His favorite thing to do was sit around a campfire, listening to music and drinking a beer with the people he loved. Chris found his true calling in being a grandfather. His 2 granddaughters, Shevelle and Autumn, were his pride and joy. He wore the title of "Pops" proudly, and he did everything for those girls. They will always remember him chasing them around the house and letting them rope him into all sorts of mischief. Christopher is survived by his siblings, Joanna Hemphill, Kimberlee Gerrard, James Melton, and Daniel Melton. His children, Dakota, Jaydon, Hailey, and Desiree. His granddaughters Shevelle and Autumn, and his Aunt Karen ( Bill) Zimmerman and Aunt Trish. Many cousins, and nieces and nephews who loved their uncle Chris dearly. As well as his long time girlfriend, Jeniffer Hullinger. He is preceded in death by his parents, Susan Lynn Melton and Michael Larry Melton, and his grandparents. We want to thank everybody that has reached out in support of us and our dad while he fought hard the last few weeks, and hospital staff at Utah Valley Hospital that took great care of our father. He is the strongest man we knew, and we are going to miss him deeply. A viewing will be held Wednesday August 21st from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A celebration for life will be held at a later date TBD; Reach out to the family for more details.
