Clark Mortensen

March 2, 1954 — July 26, 2012

"Our Angel went to Heaven at the age of 58" beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and best friend returned home to heaven on July 26, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.


Clark A. Mortensen was born to Blaine and Sarah Ellen Mortensen on March 2, 1954 in Price, Utah. Clark moved to Vernal in 1960 and lived here the remainder of his life.


Clark married Cleo (Miles) Mortensen, his high school sweetheart, and share 39 wonderful years of marriage. He was blessed with three children, Michelle (Justin) Johnson, Brian Mortensen, and Amber (Gary) Lee, Clark was also blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Brennen, Dreyton Johnson, and Sierra, Easton Koa Lee. Clark's family was his life and he loved them with all of his heart. Clark was blessed to work and own his business with his brothers (Danny and Kent) and his dad (Blaine). They owned several successful businesses and loved working with each other everyday.


Clark's favorite hobby was his guitar, which his parents gave him when he was 12 years old. You would have never met a more humble, modest, talented musician and songwriter. Clark played in several bands but really loved playing in his home recording studio the best. Clark was a member of Songramp and was awarded two songs of the month awards and was also inducted into the Songramp Hall of Fame.


Clark loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a humble, gentle, kind, generous and loving person and was loved by all. Clark is preceded in death by his father Blaine Mortensen, grandparents and other loved ones.


A Celebration of Clark's life was held Wednesday August 1st from 6~8pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home located at 410 North 800 West. Funeral Services were held August 2, 2012 at the Glines 5th Ward Chapel located at 1270 West 1500 South with the viewing at 9:15~10:45am with the services following at 11am.
