Claudia Poppleton (Johnson) Tribe

September 22, 1945 — January 12, 2025

Vernal

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, our beloved mother, Claudia, returned home to Heaven to join her husband and best friend, Bob. Claudia was born on Sept 22, 1945 in Hyrum, Ut to Albert and Lucile Johnson. After graduating high school in Hyrum, she began a nursing program at Weber State University, where she met the love of her life, a quiet, humble man, Robert (Bob) Tribe. They were married for time and eternity in the Logan LDS temple on June 18, 1965, and promptly began their family. Bob's career took the family from Cache Valley Utah to Oregon and back "home" again to Utah, with several residential excursions between. Because of Claudia's outgoing, friendly and fun personality, she influenced countless lives and made countless friends along the way. Claudia was a devout, lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was always a beautiful example to her family and friends of the Christian values she lived. She was kind, honest, clean, loving, humble and gracious. She had what she called "the Johnson Humor", inherited from her father, and was mischievous and playful... often starting food fights or spit ball wars in public places- much to Bob's chagrin. Her laughter was infectious and people wanted to be part of her joy. Claudia was multi talented and skilled in so many areas. Seamstress, quilter, gardener, builder, carpenter, chef, painter, decorator, teacher, nurse, caregiver, homemaker, mom, grandma and best friend. Among so many other things, she will be remembered for her teasing Terms of Endearment: "booger snot", "Toad', "Stinker", etc. For her wisdom: "If everyone else is jumping off a cliff, are you going to jump, too?" And for her humor: "I don't use shampoo- I use real poo!" Claudia is survived by her five children- Lani (Tony) Walton of Corinne, Ut Kim (Travis) Lofthouse of Rigby, ID Steve (Monika) Tribe of Phoenix, AZ Dale (Heidi) Tribe of Roosevelt, UT Melissa (Ryan) Darling of St. George, UT Eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, Albert & Lucile Johnson, Her siblings, A.K. Johnson and Emma Lou Peterson, her son, Thomas Robert Tribe and a great Granddaughter, Railyn Paige Manning. Claudia will be laid to her final resting place on Friday, Jan 17, 2025 beside her eternal companion, Bob, and her beloved parents in the Hyrum City Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Claudia's life from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at the LDS church house located at 455 East 100 South in Hyrum. A Luncheon will be provided. Funeral arrangements provided by Ashley Valley Funeral Home
