Clelia Martinsen

May 13, 1921 — August 31, 2015

Clelia was born May 13, 1921 to Edgar C. and Arletta Brinkeroff Jones in Cedar City, Utah. They moved when she was a little girl to Colorado on her father's sheep ranch. She attended school in Vernal in the winter and returned to the ranch in the summers.

She married her high school sweetheart, Lynn Martinsen, on April 8, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had six children, 25 grandchildren, 72 great grand children and 4 great-great-grand children.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served in several callings, but her favorite was primary. She loved her children and her home was always open to those young people that needed a place to stay and get on their feet. Mother had a big heart, especially with children and animals. She was known as the "treat lady" in the neighborhood. Her hobbies I guess you could say, was staying healthy. She read health books, exercised when she could, and believed in taking vitamins.

She always had trouble with her legs do to an injury sustained when she was little, thus she wasn't able to dance with dad. But now you can! We will miss you mom, until we see you again with all your love, wisdom and strong will.

Clelia is survived by her children: Renaee (Wayne) Gardiner, Dennis (Nanette) Martinsen, Ferron (Carron) Martinsen, Debra (Leo) Rooks, Kim (Tanya) Martinsen and Rick (Paula) Martinsen.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Edgar C and Arletta Brinkerhoff Jones; stepmother: Amanda Murray Jones; brothers: E Clark (Enda) Jones, Brenton (Myrna) Jones, Garr (Elaine) Jones; sister: Helen (Burton) Tuttle; and daughter-in-law Colleen Martinsen.
