Dale Anne (Dacier) Meagher

Dale Anne Meagher (Dacier), age 93, passed away at her home on June 28, 2024. Dale Anne was born September 20, 1930 in Brockton, Massachusetts. She grew up in Boston where her father was a salesman for Brown Shoe Company. Later she moved to New York City and graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1948. In 1952 she graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine with a bachelor's degree in English. Dale worked for a tugboat company briefly until the owner told her "you are too young to be around the tugboat crowd". She then worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until she took to the skies as a flight attendant for United Air Lines. There, in 1954, she met her husband on a flight from Denver to Vernal. She was married on November 10, 1956 in Boston to Nicholas Joseph Meagher Jr., who was a banker and livestock man. She had one son born in 1959, Nicholas Joseph Meagher III and three grandsons, Nicholas Joseph Meagher IV, Wyatt Meagher, and Gavin Meagher. Following the death of her husband in 1997 she continued to take care of her family, helping raise her grandsons and steer them towards the right path in life. She enjoyed watching them grow up and become young men. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother as well as a positive influence on the community, despite being a widow for 28 years she showed great strength of character and always maintained a loving and compassionate demeanor. She also took a leadership role in management of Arapahoe Bank and Trust in Denver, Colorado. She was an active member of her community and spent time taking care of baby calves and enjoyed watching them run around and grow up. She died in Vernal, Utah surrounded by her family in the house she lived in for 63 years. "Live as long as you can and die when you have to." Funeral services for Dale Anne will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Interment will be held Friday 12Noon at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Salt Lake City. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
