Danny Gross

July 23, 1957 — May 25, 2014

Danny Gross, age 56, returned to his Heavenly Father, May 25, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.

Danny was born July 23, 1957, in Vernal, Utah to Earl Francis Gross and Norma Jean Hacking Gross. He married Charlene Gentry May 27, 1975. He graduated from Uintah High School in 1975 and attended Utah Technical College.

Danny loved baseball and was one of the best pitchers for the Uintah Utes. He went on to play baseball in college and carried on his love for the game by coaching his sons and grandsons.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time with family and watching his grandchildren grow.

Danny was a hardworking man and passed that trait and his talents on to his children. He started a family logging business and went on to build log homes. More recently, he served the community as a home inspector.

Danny lived in Vernal his entire life and was a very faithful and involved member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served as a temple worker and in various other callings. He also served as Uintah Stake Clerk until his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; his sons, Justin Gross, Chris (Jenifer) Gross of Vernal, Jeff (Kristin) Gross of Fruita, Colorado, his daughter, Annette (Britt) Hazelbush of Vernal; his 8 grandchildren, Bryson, Jaden, Jaxon, Kalen, Dalan, Easton, Briann, and Brady; his siblings, Debbie (Todd) Hadlock, Jeanne (John) Wood, Kim (Tami) Gross, and Angie (Greg) Henline, and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brad Wesley Gross; and his grandparents, Owen and Evelyn Hacking.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11AM at the Uintah Ward Chapel (3990 South 1500 East). A viewing was held Thursday evening from 6~8PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Friday 9:45~10:45AM at the chapel prior to the funeral services. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park.

Danny truly appreciated all the love and support given to him from his wonderful family, friends and community, and his family would like to extend their thanks to all. He will be greatly missed.
