Darla (Fairbanks) Stevenson was born, January 26, 1970, in Glasgow, Montana to Richard & Patrice Fairbanks. She passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, in Grand Junction, Colorado from complications of metastatic breast cancer. Darla grew up in Mona, Utah where her family lived from 1972 until 1980. They then moved to Orangeville, Utah where she attended school at Cottonwood Elementary, San Rafael Jr. High & graduated from Emery County High School, in 1988. She then attended College of Eastern Utah, (now USU). While there she served as Lambda Delta Sigma President. She served an 18-month mission in the Morristown, New Jersey mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was married to Richard R. Stevenson in 1993, the later divorced. They welcomed into their home 3 daughters, Mandy, Emily & Lizzy. Darla was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life. She loved the Gospel & had a strong testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ & lived her life in His service. Her trials in life were extensive with multiple health challenges & heart breaks throughout her life. She chose to deal with them with faith & knowledge that the Lord was in charge. She is survived by her three daughters, Amanda, Emily & Lizzy of Provo, UT; her mother Patrice Cluff Fairbanks (Vernal, UT); her 5 brothers, Daren & Nathalie (Las Vegas, NV) Scott & Sandi (Grand Junction, CO), Brent & Amy (Huntington, UT), Ryan & Brooke (Vernal, UT), and Bobby (Minneapolis, MN) and 16 nieces & nephews & their families. She is also survived by many uncles & aunts as well as dozens of cousins who adored her. She is also survived by many friends from around the world. Many of those are her dear "pink sisters", mission companions, roommates, & friends from other groups in which she participated. She loved them all & kept in close touch with them & was a bright light in dozens of their lives. She was preceded in death, just six weeks before her passing, by her father, Richard L. Fairbanks; her grandparents, cousins, uncles, & aunts. Also pre-deceased by many of her cancer "sisters". A Celebration of Life for Darla will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12:00pm in Vernal, UT at the Ashley Stake Center (475 West 100 South). The family will receive guests prior to the service from 11:15am-11:50am. Inurnment previously is the Maeser Fairview Cemetery in Vernal, UT. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Darla requested that her service be a "Celebration of Life".
