It is with our heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, dad, and grandpa DJ. DJ was surrounded by family and many friends at the time of his passing.

Darren Glade Johnson was born on Friday, November 24, 1967 (just after a Thanksgiving meal) to Donald Glade and Mary Joyce (LaRose) Johnson in Ogden, UT. Darren was raised in Vernal, UT. Darren LOVED sports (Dallas Cowboys) and had a gift of retaining all information, dates and athletes involved. He was active in baseball, football and wrestling. His greatest love was BMX racing and traveling to all the different bike tracks, having many trophies showing his accomplishments. He was an avid hunter, enjoying the outdoors with his family and friends.

Darren graduated from Uintah High School class of 1986. He moved to Ogden, UT for a short time taking a few college classes and then came home to Vernal. Darren started his working career at Don's Body Shop; he learned many trades and became an amazing painter. He painted cars for many years before changing and going into the oilfield industry.

In 2001, Darren married Sherri Temples, though it wasn't meant to be, Darren and Sherri remained good friends. Darren's greatest treasure was his son Donovan Glade, and recently his grandson Skylar Allen.

Darren is survived by his parents Don and Joyce Johnson, his favorite sister Marianne (Branden) Bowden, son Donovan (Tashia) Johnson, grandson Skyler Allen Johnson, niece Lexy (Dustin) Smuin and boys Cooper, Aceyn, Rhen and Beau, nephew Brock (Haleigh) Bowden and girls Brixleigh, Lettie, and Halzie, Uncles Lloyd Johnson, Bob (Sandi) LaRose, Ex-Wife Sherri Temples, Special Friend Jessica Santana, and many other family members and friends.

Darren is preceded in death by his grandparents Eldon and Clifta Johnson, Fred and Ilene LaRose, Nephew Denim Gage Johnson, Uncles Loren, Larry, and Garry Larose, Aunt Karen Davis and Cousins Freddie Larose and Kerrie Neria.

Funeral services for Darren will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 1:00pm. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm and Monday from 11:45am ~ 12:45 am all at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Interment in the Lapoint Cemetery.
