David King Austin

FUNERAL LIVESTREAM LINK https://vimeo.com/523289121 David King Austin was born to Clarence W. and Glenna King Austin on April 26, 1943 in Logan, Utah. David served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in West Virginia. After his mission, he married Pamela Kofoed in the Logan Temple. David graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering from USU. David found happiness in listening to great classical music, gardening, woodworking, and church service. David was quite the philosopher and lived for a chance to have a deep discussion. David delighted working in the scouting and young-men's programs of the church. Regardless of all of his accomplishments, David was an exceptionally humble man with a great sense of humor. David passed away unexpectedly of natural causes while working in his wood shop on Friday, March 12. Although David's passing was sudden, we are grateful that God took his son home without prolonged suffering. David is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joanne who died in infancy, his son-in-law Norman Ruppe, and his son Adam Austin. He leaves behind his sisters Jenney Hoffman, Marilynn Smith, and Kathy Nelson; and his brothers Mark and Richard Austin. He also leaves behind his wife Pam and his children Brian, Jared (Janelle), Shelly Ruppe, Seth, Samuel, and Katie Batty (T.J.), 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for David will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00p.m. at the Uintah Stake Center (4080 South 2500 East). A viewing will be held Saturday 12:00-1:45a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Rockpoint Cemetery under the care and direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.AshleyValleyFuneralHome.com.
