Denise Kathryn (Humphries) Reynolds

Denise "Deci" Kathryn Humphries Reynolds was born April 1, 1965, in St. George, Utah. People always joked that she was an April Fool's joke for her mother. Her parents were LaRae Adams and Roger Humphries (deceased). Deci lived many places during her growing up years. She resided in several places in Utah, as well as California, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, and Oregon before her 16th birthday. She moved from Washington, D. C. in 1988 to her favorite home, Portland, Oregon, where she lived for 30 years. She married the love of her life, Roger Reynolds, in 1999. Deci was an unconventional spirit. She loved theater, dressing in costumes, bingo, and karaoke. She had a wide-range of similarly unconventional friends. She was an avid reader, especially enjoying science fiction and fantasy. Deci was also a gifted writer. Deci worked for over 25 years for the Corps of Engineers in Portland as a Purchasing Agent until her disabilities prompted her to move with her husband Roger to Whiterocks, Utah, to be with her mother and family during her illness. Roger took loving care of Deci during her long illness. As Deci's illness progressed she wasn't able to be as active and social as she loved, so she became very active on social media. She has many, many Facebook friends, and received a great deal of joy and solace from their friendships. Deci is survived by her husband Roger Reynolds, her mother LaRae Adams, her beloved aunts Sherri Morrill and Sandra Shelton, and many cousins. The family would like to thank Canyon Home Care and Hospice for the excellent and loving care they provided. Her light was extinguished on April 27, 2025. She will be so very missed by all of us whose lives she touched. A celebration of her life will be held June 7th at 11:00 am at the Whiterocks Branch Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
