Denise Hunting

Denise R. Hunting passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 peacefully in her sleep. Denise was born May 13th 1963 to Bobby Lou Russell (Bob) and Joyce Childs Russell in Provo UT. Where she lived for a few years before moving to EL Paso Texas for a few more years and then Vernal Ut where she met and married her eternal sweetheart Blaine H Hunting. They were married on August 29th 1980. And were later sealed in the Manti Temple.

They were blessed with 4 children, Dwayne R Hunting, Calli Jo Kettle, Cam David Hunting and Wesley R Hunting.

She was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she filled many callings many of which were involving music. She loved to play the organ and piano until her arthritis stopped her from being able to.

They lived a simple life in Naples Utah for many years before moving to Arizona then Kennewick Wa, West Plains Missouri and finally returning back to their home in Naples Utah.

She had a great love for genealogy and devoted much of her time to seeking out her family. She loved horses, playing and composing music, she played the guitar, piano and organ. She loved to collect rocks and could name almost every one you could find. She loved flowers, making jewelry, painting, spending time in the mountains camping or fishing. She loved her family both near and far. Her husband, kids, grandkids and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her father Bobby Lou Russell(Bob), her granddaughter Natalie Hunting, her mother and father in-law's Sarah H Weisgerber, Nick B Weisgerber and Dell P Hunting.

She is survived by her husband Blaine H Hunting her 4 kids and their spouses Dwayne and Lucretia Hunting of Jensen, Calli Jo and Alfred Kettle of Ballard, Cam and Melissa Hunting of Naples and Wesley and Brittany Hunting of Kennewick WA. Her 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Her mother Joyce C Russell. her sister Charlene Kupfer and her brother Boyd Russell.

The family would like to thank Ashley valley mortuary, the first responders and Naples Ist ward and all those who have brought food or showed their support of the family in anyway.

Funeral services for Denise Hunting, age 62, of Vernal, wife of Blaine Hunting, will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Naples 1st Ward Chapel (2313 South 1500 East). A viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00-10:45AM at the Church. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
