Donna Lue (Ericksen) Vance

Donna Lue (Ericksen) Vance passed away peacefully on March 29, 2022 at the Naples Beehive Home in Vernal, Utah after a long and beautiful life. Donna was born on April 15, 1927 to John L. and Bertha L. Ericksen in Castle Gate, Utah, the 4th of 4 children. They later moved to Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where she grew up. In her early years, Donna loved singing, dancing, and playing the piano. She has a beautiful voice. She was a great cook, especially known for her delicious pies. She loved to sew, craft, and crochet. She enjoyed all aspects of theater in which her parents also participated. She married her sweetheart Ellis on June 15, 1946 and they lived in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where their 4 children were born. They later moved to Dugway Proving Ground in 1953 where they lived until they retired back to Sanpete County. One of her greatest loves was spending time with her husband and children making memories. They had a great love of hunting, fishing, and camping in the Fairview Canyon. They especially enjoyed C-Canyon which was special to all treasures. They became ardent rockhounds. Donna served as an ordinance worker in the Manti and Vernal Temple. She was an indexer and served as Relief Society Secretary in Mt. Pleasant. She was a wonder person who chose to be happy despite trials. She was an example of love to all who knew her. Beloved by her family, Donna is survived by her daughters, Ludawn (Gary) Mecham, and Linda (Dan) Anderton, both of Vernal and her son Kenny (Cindy) Vance, of West Jordan, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 39 great-grand children, one great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Ellis, son; Paul, grandson; Chet, parents; John and Bertha Ericksen; brothers Jay and Shrol Ericksen and Sister Louise Jensen. Graveside services for Donna will be held Tuesday April 5, 2022 at 12:00pm at the Fairview City Upper Cemetery (100 North 700 West Fairview, Utah). Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday April 3, 2022 from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West) and Tuesday at the Fairview Upper Cemetery for family from 11:15am ~ 12:00pm.
