Doris Smith Fulkerson

June 23, 1929 — August 13, 2017

Doris Smith Fulkerson passed away at the age of 88 on August 13, 2017 in Vernal, Utah. Doris was born June 23, 1929 to Jake and Martha Smith in Nickerson, Kansas. Doris married Clark D. Fulkerson on December 15, 1947 in Nickerson, Kansas.Doris had a spitfire personality. She was so witty even up to the end. Her little remarks had people in stitches; she truthfully told you how she felt and then loved it when she'd get you blushing. Many will miss her little corky smile. The woman would make a full course meal for her husband at three in the morning, or for any strange kids that would come into the house. We praise God that now she doesn't have to do that and is with him and has such a better life and that new body she was so excited about. Doris was a founding member of the Vernal Christian Church. Doris is survived by her children: Jim (Debra) Fulkerson, Sharon (Stuart) Gordan, Jack (Carolyn) Fulkerson, Nancy (Gary) Simper and Jerry Kay (Wayne) Simper; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her husband Clark D. Fulkerson, a great-granddaughter, and son-in-law Danny Craig Bowthorpe.A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Searle Pavilion at 1P.M. In the event of inclement weather, services will be held at the Vernal Christian Church. Services are under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.Online condolences may be shared at www.AshleyValleyFuneralHome.comA special thank you to the Vernal Beehive Home, which was her second family.
