Dorothy Vencill

Survived by: Husband-James D.Vencill and Daughter-Dee Dee (Jeff) Johnson, both of Vernal Utah. Son-Steve (Carrie) Vencill of Grand Junction, Colorado, grand children and great-grand children.

Preceded in death by: Parents-Fred and Hilda Kellner, Infant Daughter-Kristie Renee and Sister-Ella Larson.

Dottie was raised in Kimball, Nebraska where she met her lifelong partner, husband Jim, They were married on July 31, 1955. She moved to Vernal, Utah in 1971 along with her husband and two children. She remained there until her recent passing. She was married to her partner in life for 59 years.

Dottie enjoyed many of the simple things in life. The hug of a close friend. The laugh of a child and the sharing of memories. She was happiest when she was helping others. She loved working in the garden and preparing wonderful food for family and friends from the food that she had harvested. She was a very accomplished cook and she also canned a lot of the produce to give to those in need. Dottie was a self taught musician and enjoyed playing her organ and singing gospel music in her church. She loved to sew and made many items for her family and friends. She maintained a house cleaning business and met and worked for many wonderful people in the basin that she considered family. Whenever she had spare time she enjoyed doing puzzles or decorating all kinds off egg shells with elaborate beadwork and beautiful designs. She enjoyed raising chickens, ducks and geese and loved to watch her grandchildren working with her and tending to her poultry farm. She considered every person she met a friend and shared her love of life and her infectious smile with everyone she knew.

She will be missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to invite any and all of her many friends to join them in a celebration of Dottie's life at the Vernal Christian Church (1845 West 750 South) on Thursday, Feb. 26th, 2015 at 11:00am.
