Dwayne Ray Shearer

Dwayne Ray Shearer (Snuffy) was born March 2, 1941 in Paonia, Colorado to Inelda (Ned) Shearer and Clara Courdray. Dwayne spent his childhood in Paonia, Colorado and Price, Utah. He graduated from East Carbon High in 1959. He served in the US Navy. Dwayne was an underground coal miner for 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed riding his horses, fishing and hunting and his pack trips. Dwayne passed away August 31, 2018 at his home in Utah.He is survived by his wife Twila (Barkhoff); Children: Travis (Debbie) of Dury, Miss., Jeffrey (Kim) of Grand Junction, CO, Racquel (Richard) Mecham of Vernal, UT, Justin of Vernal, UT; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Betty Wycoff of San Diego, CA and several nieces and nephews.He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Glenna of Hurricane, UT, great-granddaughter Zelda Sage Taylor.He will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. He lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed but we know he will be riding the range of Heaven watching over us.A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 1-4PM at the Paonia Town Park in Paonia, Colorado.
