Ernest Dennis Winkler, age 79 of Vernal, Utah passed away peacefully on April 23, 2021. He was born on March 10, 1942 to Ernest and Virginia Winkler in Bluebell, Utah. Dennis loved, admired, and enjoyed his children. Dawn, David August, Chuck (Chris), Lori (Wade), Dave, SuAn (Earl), Gerald (Loren) and Courtney (Nathan). He believed that his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the best. He was the oldest of eight children. His siblings are Pat, Doug, Rachel (Gary), Verona (Steve), Don, Ruthie (Glendon), and Duane. Dennis loved taking cars and other things apart and putting them back together. He built, painted and drove stock cars. He usually painted flames on them. Once he painted "Lucky Lover" on the back fender of the family car, a 1954 baby blue Chevy. He worked as a mechanic, tow truck driver, painter and other jobs around vehicles. He was also a proud veteran of the Army National Guard. He loved going to dances and eating lunch with his friends at the Senior Center. Dennis is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has a testimony of Our Heavenly Father, Our Savior Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, and the restored gospel. He will be remembered for his pleasant disposition, imagination and kindness. Graveside services for Dennis will be held Friday April 30, 2021 at 12:00pm at the Bluebell Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 9:00am - 10:45am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.AshleyValleyFuneralHome.com.
