Edna Alice (Short) Martin

Edna "Eddie" Martin passed away on October 3, 2024 at the age of 89. Edna was born on October 13, 1934 to Mabel Sanderson and Lester Short in Rock Eagle, Wyoming. Edna married Paul D. Rocky Lawrence in Wheatland, Wyoming. Rocky and Edna had two children, Lisa (Jed) Ewell and Chris Lawrence, both of Vernal, Utah. Rocky and Edna later divorced. She married Robert W. Martin on March 18, 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona and they recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary. Edna enjoyed traveling, Broadway plays, Wyoming Cowboy football, and time spent with dear friends and family. Edna is survived by her husband, Robert, of Mesa, Arizona; daughters, Lisa Ewell (Jed) and Chris Lawrence, both of Vernal, Utah; stepdaughter Laurie Martin, of Georgia. Also survived by five grands and their spouses: Dustin & Jessica Adams, Zack & Destiny Ewell (all of Vernal), Kayla & Brandon Woods (Washington, Utah), Kristin & Devin Mahrt (Smithfield, Utah), Scott Barajas (Cheyenne, Wyoming), and Matthew Graham (Georgia). Survived by her sister-in-law, Dorthy Short (Washington State) and five great grandchildren: Ashlyn, Peyton, and Reagan Adams (Vernal) and Levi and Jovie Mahrt (Smithfield, Utah), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws William and Edna Martin, and siblings and their spouses: Kenneth and Irene Short, Charles and Kathryn Short, James and Naomi Short, Clara and Bob Berry, Owen Short, and Ben Short. A visitation for Edna will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 6-8 PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 10 AM at the Wheatland City Cemetery (609 9th Street, Wheatland, Wyoming), all under the direction of Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
