Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend Elaine Taylor Woolley, age 91, passed away peacefully January 14, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, at the Beehive Home in Naples, Utah. Elaine was born May 31, 1932 in Whiterocks, Utah, a daughter of Harvey Taylor and Fontella Moosman Taylor. Elaine graduated from Altonah High School with the class of 1950. She married Max B. Woolley on May 1, 1951 in Lapoint, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5, 1964. Max preceded her in death May 12, 2000. Elaine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Vernal 3rd and 9th Wards. Elaine spent her early married years working at First Security Bank, but soon found her true joy in being a homemaker and mother. Max and Elaine were blessed with three children, Debbie, Mitzi, and Howard. Elaine cherished the time spent with family and they were everything to her. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to eight grandchildren. Her precious granddaughter Kimberly passed away in 1982. She was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren. What a joy they were to her, and they will miss her dearly. Elaine always kept a beautiful home and meticulous yard full of gorgeous flowers. She received the Vernal City Beautification Award for her beautiful yard. Elaine could often be found lovingly tending to her extensive collection of roses. Elaine enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and quilting. All of her children and grandchildren were the lucky recipients of her lovely afghans and quilts. Elaine is survived by her daughters Debbie (Don) Read of Highland Ranch, Colorado; Mitzi (Bud) Barnes of Vernal; and son, Howard (Sue Anne) Woolley of Vernal. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brett (Heather) Barnes; Russell (Candice) Barnes; Bart (Dani) Woolley; Katie (Jared) Kaufman; Jason (Bonnie) Woolley; McKenzie (Ryan) Dearth; and Morgan (Terik) Hone. 11 great grandchildren, Dace, Madi, Lukas, Kimber, Niklos, Easton, Isabelle, Blakely, Bronx, Hudson, Nashua. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Beulah Taylor Nyberg and Carma Taylor Hartle; and granddaughter Kimberly Barnes. Gratitude and sincere thanks to the staff of the Naples Utah Beehive Home for their love and compassionate service to Elaine. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the hospice team at Canyon Home Health (Paige & Sheila). A private family funeral service was held Thursday January 18, 2024 at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home followed by interment in the Vernal Memorial Park.
