Eldon Fullmer Anderton passed away on October 14, 2022, at the age of 94. Eldon was born on February 14, 1928, to Neva Glee Fullmer and Eldon Woodruff Anderton in Cedarview, Utah. Eldon grew up in a time of the depression and his family had to move often for work opportunities. He learned to be frugal and work hard. At the age of 17 he joined the Navy. He had many tales to tell of his adventures during his tour of duty which ended March 25, 1949. He returned home to the Uintah Basin and married his eternal sweetheart, Velda Hoopes, on June 20, 1949, in Whiterocks, Utah. They were blessed with five children. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on January 10, 1964. Eldon loved being outdoors. He often told tales of his adventures and work in the Uintah mountains, often alone, walking or on occasion riding a horse. They didn't have the luxury of vehicles. He covered much of the Basin on foot. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Although he was very comfortable being alone, he also enjoyed time spent with friends and family. He felt at peace in the mountains. He also loved to garden and could often be found making potions for his garden from his favorite gardening book, which he was happy to share with others. He was a great gardener and produced a lot of delicious produce. He could often be found leaning on his shovel and looking over his garden. He found peace in his garden. He had many employment opportunities and eventually went to work for the Government at Dugway Proving Grounds as a munitions specialist. He loved his work. Through work there he was able to go on assignments outside of the base, his favorite being Alaska. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. He loved serving as a scout leader and working with the young men. He served as an ordinance worker in the Vernal Temple. Eldon is survived by his son Danny (Linda) Anderton, son-in-law Clifton Southam, daughter Joella (Bill) Batty, son Ren Anderton, daughter JaNeen (John) Floyd, 23 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and 6 more on the way. He was very proud of his posterity and loved each one of them, and they loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife Velda, parents Eldon and Neva, sister Marella, brothers: Jay, Jack, Garth, and Cal Anderton; daughter Jackie Southam, daughter-in-law Paris Anderton, and grandsons Joseph and Jeremy Anderton.
