Eleanor Rose Sargent Marshall passed from this world peacefully at her home on March 22, 2026, at the age of 95. Eleanor was born on June 29, 1930, to Melba Sneddon Hunter and Harold Russel Sargent in Cedar City, Utah. Eleanor married Nelson James Marshall on March 2, 1951 - 75 years ago - in the St. George Utah Temple.

Eleanor was a gifted musician. She played many instruments expertly including: piano, organ, violin and viola. She spent her life teaching others to play these instruments competently. For many years of her life she taught 70 students per week starting very early daily before school and ending near dark. Her students performed many recitals and received high honors and awards in various state and local competitions. She blessed the community by playing her string instruments for many musicals as well as the community orchestra. Eleanor's achievements with her students now stretches around the world as they have gone forth to teach, accompany, and perform. What a legacy she has left behind. Eleanor not only taught music but she served the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her talents. Among other callings she was the ward and stake organist, a choir accompanist, and ward and stake music chairman. As the stake music chairman she served for 59 years being released at one point for only two hours when stake boundaries were changed.

Eleanor enjoyed many other hobbies in which she was also very skilled. She painted, sewed, and knit beautiful works of art. She loved to read and often finished a book in a day. She was enthralled with the lighter, brighter Kindle.

She is survived by her children, Patricia, Jacqueline, Harold and their spouses. Her grandchildren; Samantha, Elizabeth, Dallin, Kassandra, Jessica, Aaron, Klisa, Jeremy and Kyle. She had seven great grandsons and one great granddaughter and two great, great grandchildren.
