Elizabeth Mary Jean Rodarte (Whitaker), 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on July 22, 2026, in Vernal, Utah. Born on November 9, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, Elizabeth lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion.

Elizabeth was a loving and caring mother, wife, and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She was raised in Denver, Colorado, and later met the love of her life, John. They married June 3, 1972, in Delta, Colorado. They then moved to Vernal, Utah, and lived there until her passing.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John Rodarte; her daughter, Christina Aycock; her son, Ben Moore; her sister, Norma Wamboldt; her brother, Ernie Whittaker; her sister, Terry Whittaker; her sister, Ruby Blake; her sister, Judy Hopkins; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Micheal Rodarte; her father, Ralph Whittaker; her mother, Rosa Marie Cassidente; her granddaughter, Kassi Reynolds; her father-in-law, Pete Rodarte; and her mother-in-law, Ramona Rodarte; her brothers David Whitaker, Tommy Whittaker, and Ernest Brown; and her sisters Rosalie Horner, Aleta Campbell, and Francis Ann Whittaker.

Elizabeth had a passion for the arts and found joy in drawing, painting, and sewing. Her creative spirit was matched by her love for the outdoors-she enjoyed camping and fishing with loved ones. She also delighted in putting puzzles together, a pastime that reflected her patience and attention to detail. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family and friends.

Elizabeth's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Her deep spirituality gave her strength, peace, and purpose through every season. She lived her faith with quiet devotion, and its enduring presence brought comfort, hope, and inspiration to all who knew her.

Elizabeth's legacy is one of love, kindness, and devotion to family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

May she rest in eternal peace surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her lifetime.

Services will be held July 31, 2026, at 11:00 at St James Catholic Church. With a lunch at the church following the services.
