Eric Bowden

Eric Mitchell Bowden passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 43. Eric was born on January 9,1982, to Shona and Glen Bowden in Vernal, UT. Growing up with his two older brothers Eric, Jacob and James were like the three musketeers leaving a wake of mischief and laughter. During his younger days they could be found jumping off the roof onto trampolines, riding bikes and firing potato guns through fences.

Eric married Ginger Stringham on September 1, 2007. They welcomed two wonderful children during their time together, Amelia and Jet. Eric loved his children fiercely. Though Ginger and Eric later were divorced, they remained close.

Eric had always loved the outdoors. As a child he spent his days riding his bike and exploring pretty much all of Vernal and the surrounding areas. Most of his time was spent outside whether it was white water rafting, hunting, fishing, exploring, or camping. He especially cherished his time fishing and camping with his brothers James and Jacob. In his 20's, Eric obtained a private pilot license and enjoyed the bird's eye view from his Cessna 150. One thing he loved was working with his hands. Known for being very talented at woodworking, his family were the recipients of many of the gifts created in his shop at home. Eric worked in various positions in the oilfield and eventually earned his journeyman electrician license. Eric found a second love with Angie. They spent more than a decade together. She was a constant support for him through life's ups and downs. Although he struggled towards the end of his life with alcoholism we will be remembering him for his quick wit, sense of humor, talent and warm smile.

He is survived by his children: Amelia and Jet Bowden, his long-term girlfriend Anginette Montgomery, and her children Miah, Jaren, and Jude. His Mother: Shona Bowden, Brothers: James (Bobi Jo) and Jacob Bowden, and nieces: Stella, Sophie, and Jameson Bowden many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Celebration of life for Eric will be held Saturday, November 8th at 1:00pm at Stone Hollow Event Center 1010 North Vernal Ave. Arrangements under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
