Ernest Alma Buist

Ernest Alma Buist passed away on June 14, 2023 at the age of 87. Ernie was born on December 7, 1935 to Alma & Gladys Buist in Vernal, Utah. Ernie married Gloria on June 15, 1985 in Brush Creek. Ernie served in the US Army in Panama in 1954. After returning home from his service, Ernie owned and operated a heavy equipment construction company and ran heavy equipment for most his life. Ernie and Gloria purchased a ranch in Brush Creek where they enjoyed ranching and farming for many years. Ernie enjoyed his friends and family and bullshitting with them was one of his favorite things to do. Ernie loved children and he had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Gloria Buist, son Rick Buist, sisters Joyce (Van) Stubbs and Connie (Gerry) Boren, his brothers Roger Buist and Boyd Buist, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Alma and Gladys Buist, stepson Larry Curtis, brother Doug Buist, sister Delma (Shirley) Watkins and Barbara (Benny) Holmes. The family would like to sincerely thank Canyon Home Care & Hospice, all the amazing nurses and staff! Your expertise and care over the past several months have been so greatly appreciated!!! Military Honors by American Legion Post 11 will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 5:30 at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, with an open house following, from 6-8PM.
