In Loving Memory of Ferrel Woodruff Glines

Ferrel Woodruff Glines was born on November 27, 1936, to John Lloyd Glines and Emma Estella Woodruff. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, resourcefulness, and perseverance from his father, who taught him woodworking, farming, and problem-solving. Ferrel was known for his playful sense of humor, quick wit, love of adventure, and ability to turn almost any challenge into a solution.

A lifelong outdoorsman, Ferrel enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, boating, and traveling with his family. He especially loved cars and trucks and took great pleasure in teaching his children to ski, encouraging them to work hard, do well in school, and enjoy life. His family will fondly remember his humor, his occasional frustrations behind the wheel or at the boat dock, and the stories that became treasured family memories.

Ferrel met Lenna Searle while growing up in the Glines Ward. Their friendship blossomed into love, and they were married on November 5, 1956, a day Ferrel often described as the best day of his life. Their devoted marriage became a lasting example of love, commitment, and family unity for their children.

Ferrel dedicated 35 years to working on electronics for the United States Air Force, including aircraft and intercontinental ballistic missile systems. His technical knowledge, ingenuity, and remarkable troubleshooting skills made him someone others could depend on. A lifelong learner, he valued education and approached life's challenges with determination, curiosity, and a practical mind.

His faith in the Lord, love of the scriptures, and commitment to missionary service were central to his life. After retirement, Ferrel and Lenna set a goal to visit all the temples. They also served a mission together at Cove Fort, Utah, continuing their devotion to the Lord and to one another.

On October 10, 2026, Ferrel returned home to his Heavenly Father, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, humor, ingenuity, adventure, and love.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lenna Searle Glines; his children, Chad W. Glines (Tami), Brad Glines, Cindy Glines, and Danielle Glines Olsen (Dan); and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ferrel will be remembered for his unwavering faith, devotion to his wife and family, love of the outdoors, remarkable problem-solving abilities, and playful spirit. Above all, he leaves behind the example of a life well lived—one grounded in love, service, perseverance, and faith. His family will forever cherish the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the many adventures they experienced together.
