Floyd Theodore Potter

Floyd Theodore Potter, age 85, passed away quietly in his sleep on Friday, August 12, 2022. Floyd was born in Fleming, Colorado, on March 30, 1936. He was one of three children born to Floyd and Marry Potter. He spent his childhood days in Colorado, where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Strickland in 1954. They relocated to Vernal in 1959 where they raised their three children: Dixie, Rory, and Johnny Rex. Floyd worked at Halliburton and retired after more than 30 years of employment. Floyd had many interests. He was an avid reader, as well as, a collector of guns. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, as well as, playing the guitar in his free time. He had many guitars in his collection. Grandpa loved sports of all kind. He enjoyed playing and watching sports. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. Floyd is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Dixie Lee; son, Rex; Susan; and all of Vernal. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many others who will greatly miss him. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and son, Rory Potter. A private family graveside service for Floyd was held on Monday August 15, 2022 in the Rockpoint Cemetery. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
