At 90 years of age, Forrest Hancock departed this earth on Dec. 19, 2012 of natural causes.
He was born July 7th 1922 in Bluebell, Utah to William Clarence and Clara Ellen Mathews Hancock. He was the 7th child born into the family but their first son. At an early age he was taught the value of hard work and how to serve others. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy.
He married Renae Whiting on Sept 19, 1945 in Salt Lake City, UT
Forrest is survived by his children: Crae Forrest Hancock of Neola UT, Shana Lin (Greg) Witbeck of Vernal UT, Brett C (Cindy) Hancock of Vernal UT, Blake Ward (Marissa) Hancock of N. Salt Lake UT, Cheryl Ann (Russ) Brown of Lehi UT, and his sister, Alice Marie Howells of Riverton UT, 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marsha Renae(daughter), and siblings Clara Ellen, Edith Emily, Berneice, Wilda, Lois, and William Devere.
He enjoyed his family, horses, good friends, and pulling pranks. He faithfully served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. Interment was in the Roosevelt City Cemetery with military honors.
