Fred Green

Fred (Buck) Frank Green, age 84, died Saturday, February 21, 2015. Fred was born February 18, 1931 in Maud, Oklahoma to Frank Green and Nancy Elizabeth Little. He was the youngest of seven children. He had three brothers, John, James and Dan, and three sisters, Willie Mae, Carmelita and Wanda.

Fred grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma graduating in 1949. After graduation, Fred joined the Navy. He served four years-two years in Iwokuni, Japan during the Korean War, and two years stateside.

After discharge from the Navy, Fred attended Oklahoma State University graduating in 1958 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He came to Rangely in 1959 to work as an accountant for: Hegwer Drilling, Jac's Clothing, Baker Well, Pilcher and Poole, and Fran's Clothing.

He married Frances in 1970 and had two step-children, Cheryl Jensen and James (JT) Tipton. He had six grandchildren-Jason, Jacob, Jenny, Lyndsey, Kendra and Logan, and one great grandson-JC.

He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge #80.

He is survived by his wife Frances, Brother James Green and Sister Wanda George both of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father Frank Green, mother Nancy Elizabeth Little, brothers John and Dan Green, and sisters Willie Mae Burton(Benton) and Carmelita Bond.

Services will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015, 1:00 pm at the Rangely LDS church. Viewing will be held from 11:45 to 12:45 just prior to service. Interment will be in the Rangely Cemetery under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
