Fredrick "Rick" William Wright, 54, of Vernal, passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident in Duchesne County on August 28, 2026.
Rick was born February 26, 1972, in Provo, Utah, to Frederick Lewis and Barbara Lynne Wright. He grew up in American Fork, where he graduated from American Fork High School, became an Eagle Scout, and later served an honorable mission in the Argentina Salta Mission.
Rick was a man with a genuinely kind and compassionate heart. He spent much of his life helping others, both through his work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at North Eastern Counseling and simply by being someone people could turn to. His ability to speak Spanish allowed him to connect with and serve even more people in his community.
To those who loved him most, Rick was so much more than his career or accomplishments. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He loved his family deeply and found some of his greatest happiness in simply being together. He loved riding his bike, listening to AC/DC and Metallica, woodworking, and family game nights-where his competitive nature and jokes always made everyone laugh.
His granddaughters, Olivia and Marie, brought a special kind of joy to his life. He was so proud of his family and treasured the time he had with them.
Rick passed through the veil alongside his beloved wife, Heather, and their son, Jackson. His passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness for those who loved him, but his kindness, humor, love, and the countless lives he touched will never be forgotten.
Rick loved the Lord, he loved his family, and he lived his life trying to make a difference in the lives of others. His greatest legacy will not be found in titles or accomplishments, but in the people who loved him and the love he so freely gave.
He is survived by his daughters, Anya and Stephanie; granddaughters, Olivia and Marie; parents, Lewis and Lynne; siblings, Jonathan, Becky, Gerilee, and Cami; along with many extended family members and friends who will carry his memory with them always.
