Garnet was an extremely hard worker. She took pride in raising her children and always seemed to make a dollar go further than anyone we know. Her family always had homemade meals with foods from a huge garden that she grew every summer. She canned all of the food that her family ate and helped process beef from the ranch. She made additional money for her family by taking in sewing jobs, she was an amazing seamstress. She would sew the most intricate Barbie clothes and sell them and the corner store. She also made her children's clothes for school and, taught baton twirling where she would enter her students in the local parades. One year she decided she would like a new washing machine so every night she would go out after dark and collect worms to sell for fishing and made the money to buy the new washing machine. She was very frugal; no one in the family went without. Her and Phillip purchased the Sage Hills Ranch and had many adventures. She enjoyed summer days, fishing, dancing; ice skating, making mud pies and getting out and riding the 3 wheelers. She truly loved to paint & she was also an amazing water skier. She and Phillip separated in 1987. Once her children were raised she moved to Green River Wyoming, her heart was always in Wyoming. She met and married Roland Maldonado; they had lots of adventures and traveled quite frequently. She realized it was too hard to live away from her Children and returned to Vernal.
