Gary George Sutton

Gary George Sutton age 81 of Vernal, Utah passed away on February 24, 2022. He was born on December 14, 1940 in Los Angeles, California to James and Stella Sutton. He was 1 of 5 children. He married Pat Lipphardt on November 16, 1962. They have one daughter. Gary graduated from Uintah High School in 1959. He attended Carbon College on a basketball scholarship for one year. Due to a family emergency he had to come home and take over the family business, Sutton Cleaners. The later he built a ten-space trailer court. He loved to race horses, hunt, and fish at Hog Heaven. He also liked to farm. Gary was in a farming accident in 1989 and lost his sight and use of his right arm. Gary is survived by his wife of 59 years Pat Sutton, his daughter; Sharlimar (Shelly) Hartman, grandson Christian (Gary) Hartman, and brother Kerry Sutton. He is preceded in death by his parents; James and Stella, sister; Pat McNeill and brothers Mike and Jimmy Sutton. Updated Funeral Services for Gary G. Sutton, age 81 of Vernal, husband of Pat Sutton, will be held Tuesday March 1, 2022 at 12:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be held that morning from 10:45am ~ 11:45am both at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
