Geaneen Blauer

November 27, 1942 — December 22, 2025

Ephraim

Geaneen Whittle Blauer was welcomed into the world on November 27, 1942, to Reitti Elizabeth and Darrel Eugein Whittle, who had waited sixteen years for her arrival. She grew up in Oakley, Idaho, alongside her sister, Nedra Whittle Robinson, and was lovingly nurtured in the home of her brother, Robert Whittle, and his wife, Joan.

From a young age, Geaneen demonstrated remarkable determination and work ethic. She supported herself by working multiple jobs at the same time while excelling academically, graduating as Valedictorian of Oakley High School's Class of 1961.

Geaneen met her husband, Aaron Clyde Blauer, on a blind date. Their love grew as she faithfully wrote to him during his mission, and they were married on September 14, 1962, in the Logan LDS Temple. They became the parents of four children in the early years of their marriage and, after twelve years, were further blessed with three more children." Geaneen was a devoted and ever-present mother who modeled consistency, faith, and a strong work ethic for her children.

Geaneen and Clyde raised their seven children in Ephraim, Utah, where she joyfully served in many community and church capacities, including leading the city's beautification committee. The Blauer home was well known for its stunning, flower-filled yard and lush garden. Geaneen and Clyde generously shared plant and flower starts with neighbors, helping beautify the entire city of Ephraim.

After raising her family, Geaneen pursued a new calling and became a licensed massage therapist, graduating at the age of 60. Through her healing touch, she brought comfort and relief to many. She was also an accomplished seamstress, making much of her children's clothing-including prom and wedding dresses-and lovingly creating a baby, teenage, and wedding quilt for her grandchildren. A devoted family historian, she carefully preserved records and spent her life studying the gospel and scriptures as a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Geaneen and Clyde later served as senior missionaries in the Massachusetts, Boston Mission. Her steadfast testimony of Jesus Christ was the foundation upon which she lived her life.

In 2020, Geaneen suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed on one side and confined to a wheelchair. During the final five and a half years of her life, she remained determined to walk again. She was a powerful example of resilience, determination, and hope, and her constant giggles and joyful laughter lifted everyone around her.

Geaneen is survived by her seven children: Alan Blauer (Vicki), Robert Blauer (Stephanie), Lucy Walbeck (Alan), Tony Blauer (Jenny), Elizabeth Dover (Ed), Amy Perschon (Brody), and Katie Kirk (John Kirk and Derek Miller). She is also survived by 42 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
